Join our course ‘Aging, Cannabis and Opioid Use’ with Marilyn White-Campbell, Geriatric Addiction Specialist

The National Initiative for the Care of the Elderly (NICE) is proud to host the NICE Learning Series on Aging, a multi-course educational program concentrating on important topics in the field of gerontology and geriatrics. The courses are tailored specifically to older adults and their care partners, students interested in the field of aging, and to those working with older adults. The NICE Learning Series on Aging connects participants with expert instructors as well as older adults with lived experience who help facilitate the classes and put learning into context.

As one of the world’s foremost knowledge transfer networks in the field of aging, we recognize the importance of moving knowledge to action.

This course is part of a learning series, and upon successful completion of eight courses in the series, participants will be provided with a certificate from NICE in recognition of specialized knowledge in gerontology and geriatrics.

This course will help you understand why there’s been a dramatic increase in the use of opioids and cannabis among older adults. You will learn about the potential risks and benefits of these substances, and better prepare you to have honest conversations with your clients and family.

NICE has developed each 4-week course as a combination of live weekly online sessions online and dynamic group discussion between classes. Missed a lesson? All lectures are recorded for access and review at your convenience.
